On-Line Diagnosis of Settler Processes

The solids-liquid separation problem is of crucial importance in all wastewater treatment systems operations, in particular in activated sludge systems. This is true in a wide spectrum of operating conditions. During severe hydraulic loadings the clarifier becomes the bottle-neck. Likewise, the long term development of the microbial species determines the floc structure, and this in turn is directly reflected in the separability of the sludge. Due to these reasons, it is essential to find ways to automatically detect any changes in the settling properties. The work has been presented in my thesis for the degree of Licentiate of Technology.

On-Line Publications

Some of my research work has been presented in different papers and publications. Some of these publications, including my thesis, are available for on-line reading or browsing. It is also possible to down load them as PostScript files for printing.

Teaching

Computers in Automation Systems (Datorer i Automation)

I've been quite involved in the course Computers in Automation Systems (Datorer i Automation). My main concern was to supervise a 7 week long robotics project, but I've also been giving lectures, leading exercise seminars and guiding laboratory experiments.
