SUMMARY:SEC seminar: E-mobility presentations from KTH and DTU

ential Impact of Electric Vehicles Connected to the Grid-A Pre-Study for t
he Swedish Power SystemLina Bertling Tjernberg\, Professor in Power Grid T
echnology at KTH the Royal Institute of Technology and Deputy Head of the
school at the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.Abstract: This t
alk will present results from a pre-study analyzing the potential of Vehic
le to Grid(V2G). A scenario is investigated quantifying the amount of ener
gy that can be injected into the grid if all the power generation is shut
down and the country has to survive on the power pushed back by the EVs in
to the grid assuming that reactive power compensation is present to mainta
in the stability of the grid. Results show analytical calculations on the
number of hours the current EV fleet can help sustain the grid in case of
a blackout. The results obtained can be utilized for the modeling of emerg
ency plans in grid operation in case of a partial failure.Coordinated&nbsp
 \;management of&nbsp\;heterogenous EV chargers: From&nbsp\;theoretical&nbs
 p\;algorithms to&nbsp\;practical&nbsp\;demonstrationMattia Marinelli\, Pro
fessor in E-mobility in energy Systems and Head of the PhD School at DTU W
ind and Energy Systems\, DTU (Denmark).Abstract: As electric vehicle integ
ration matures\, the challenge shifts from simple connectivity to the soph
isticated management of heterogeneous charging assets. This presentation s
hares key practical results from the EU project EV4EU\, focusing on the ag
gregation of distributed chargers to provide a grid-optimal charging exper
ience and essential grid services. We analyse the operational performance
of control algorithms validated through real-world demonstration activitie
 s. The talk concludes by bridging these findings to the upcoming activitie
s of the EU project AHEAD\, specifically addressing the integration of slo
w multi-brand infrastructure and the deployment of battery-buffered fast c
harging systems. The seminar is motivated by the PhD defence of Alice Calla
nan (née Jansson) on 13 May 9:00\, where Professor Bertling Tjernberg is
the faculty opponent and Professor Marinelli is in the examination committ
ee. See Calendar at the bottom of link to new window for more information
including link to the thesis and Teams-link for the PhD defence.Alice Call
anan is part of the Swedish Electromobility Centre\, that is hosting this
seminar. See link to new window\n\nMer information om händelsen: https://
